The Dieselgate scandal represents one of the most outstanding examples of the trade-off leading our consumption-driven society: Comfortable Life Vs Healthy Life. Cars make life easier, but at a cost. While the utility of a vehicle is visible to everyone, its toxic emissions are as invisible as the air that we breath. What is invisible is hard to be understood and tends to be perceived as non important. This lack of public awareness is helping the car industry in Europe to keep polluting in spite of laws and technologies that were made to reduce the pollution associated to our daily driving.
